The camper recruitment season is in full swing. So far the Camp Directors have travelled near and far to spread the word about YMCA Hayo-Went-Ha Camps. The Indian Hills Camp Fair was a huge success and a big HWH thank-you goes out to Dave Brott, Alex Chaney, Rachel Piker, Maggie Deadrick and Ellie Osborn for their help and enthusiasm. The Cincinnati rally was again a huge success with well over 100 people attending. Always a fun crowd to greet in Cincinnati!
Keep telling your friends, neighbors, and relatives about our great camp and we hope we see you at one of our future rallies. Check the section on the web site for dates and locations.
Enroll now as many programs are filling fast and you do not want to miss out on an opening!
Please call or email the main office if you have any registration questions.

Watch a video of Dave Martin and see photos of Simon Helyer both jumping into frozen Torch Lake this weekend. With temperatures in the teens and the lake only having just frozen over the night before, several brave souls from the Oxford Adventure Club along with Dave and Simon braved the icy waters of Torch Lake. First Doug Gillespie the Maintenance director had to chip a hole in the ice for the Polar Bears to make a splash. Then one after the other they jumped – spending a freezing and shivering 4 seconds in the frigid waters. That deserves a Polar Bear certificate itself!

With bug juice, a silver moon hanging and forty people happily singing “Zombie Jamboree” the Camp Arbutus Reunion at the Grosse Pointe Country Club was a huge success! It was so enjoyable to see and hear alumni reminisce about their time at camp. Many had photos and memorabilia from their camp days to share and everyone remembered their favorite songs and were happy to sing loud and clear with friends! A 2009 camp reunion is being planned at camp. Check the web site for details early in the new year!
