At Camp Arbutus Hayo-Went-Ha, young women and girls will experience adventure and fun in beautiful surroundings while developing lifelong friendships and memories.

Campers will enjoy the great variety of activities that we offer daily. The morning schedule allows campers to work together on many of the offered activities as a cabin unit. The time is also used to teach all campers about the camping equipment, including usage and safety before their trips. The campers also become oriented with maps and practice for their adventrure. Through this, a camper will develop an understanding of the individual responsibility each person has to the group.

The afternoon allows each camper to individually select any one of the following activities: sailing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, arts and crafts, archery, nature studies, soccer, ultimate frisbee, dodge ball, tennis, basketball, newspaper, drama and dance. We emphasize Judeo-Christian values in our daily living and follow the four core values of the YMCA of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility in all that we do.

CHALLENGE COURSE !

High adventure activities include a new 38-foot high climbing tower offered to campers of all ages. The four sided climbing wall offers campers an opportunity to progress to a more challenging level. The ropes course is also an exciting and popular program area where all campers 6th grade and older have an opportunity to participate. After ascending the Jacob's Ladder, 12 challenging obstacles await before the thrilling zip-line descent.

EQUESTRIAN PROGRAM!

Camp Arbutus Hayo-Went-Ha takes great pride in its horse-riding program! Experienced equestrian staff are on hand to provide campers with riding lessons and lead trail rides over the 80 acres of established trails. They teach horse care and barn management. Lessons are taught either outdoor or indoor in our arena or riding area, and are designed for different skill levels. Staff will teach both English and western riding. Camp provides protective helmets for safety and qualified, trained instructors for all horse riding programs. Classes and/or rides are available to all campers. Campers can signup for individual lessons/rides at $22 per lesson or participate as part of a designated camp program.
