Program
Boys and girls who have finished Kindergarten through Fourth Grade will utilize many areas of Hayo-Went-Ha's 640 acres of virtually undisturbed forest and 1.5 miles of shoreline on beautiful Torch Lake. The Activity Center serves as Day Camp's home base. Campers utilize a Native American Tepee, playground equipment, an archery range, athletic field, the waters of Torch Lake, many forest trails, and the Dow Environmental Education Building. Campers will be busy playing group games, hiking, exploring nature, singing and doing crafts. The high point of the week is Fabulous Friday, which is filled with special activities, including Hayo-Went-Ha's 50 foot climbing wall and Big Zip Line, to cap off the week.

Staff
We intentionally keep our staff to camper ratios at a maximum of eight campers to one staff. The staff works diligently to see that camper safety and success is ensured. Our staff enjoys working with young children. As a result, many day campers return for two, three and even four years!

Philosophy
In all activities we do at Day Camp, we follow the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.  We teach campers the virtues of honesty in one's dealings with all people, respect for others, and an understanding of one's self within the framework of a world that is greater than us all.
