Finished 9th or 10th grade / 4 week session only

FOR THE TRUE MOUNTAIN BIKE ENTHUSIAST, BUSH BIKERS is for you! These ninth and tenth grade campers (Eighth Grade Campers who possess ADVANCED mountain biking skill are also eligible) will tackle the famous Marquette South Loops and the North Country Trail along Lake Superior. The Bush Bikers will ride many of the trails used by the “Superior Bike Fest” and “Ore to Shore” bike races near Marquette. This eight day/seven night trip is more advanced than past years’ Mountain Biking trips and will meet the challenge of some of Marquette’s tougher mountain biking trails. The Bush Bikers also tackle the trails of the Keweenaw Peninsula near Copper Harbor to wrap up the incredible week of mountain biking. Campers must provide their own 18 or 21-speed mountain bike.

The following list is detailed and specific for the Bush Bikers trip.

Trip Equipment
A local bike store will rent bikes and equipment if the camper is not able to bring their own. Call the camp office if you are interested soon after registration.

  • Mountain bike (a well built, quality bike is required, 18 or 21 speeds recommended)
  • Bike helmet
  • Bike repair kit and extra tubes
  • Biking gloves
  • Biking shorts
  • Sunglasses with strap
  • Backpack/camping towel
  • Bike water bottle
  • Duffel bag or backpack to pack personnel gear for the trip (you will not be backpacking – this is just for storage!)
